Permanent antistatic additives, also known as non‑migratory additives, are based on high‑molecular‑weight polymers and do not migrate or leach out of the plastic. These additives rely on a continuous ionically conductive polymer phase; ions within the additive serve as charge carriers, effectively dissipating electrostatic charges. A reduction in the material’s electrical resistivity can be measured.
